RANLO TOWN MANAGER TO TRANSITION TO MOUNT HOLLY

Ranlo Town Manager, Jonathan Blanton, announced his resignation today. Mr. Blanton will be transitioning to the City of Mount Holly as their new city manager effective January 2, 2024. His last official day with the Town of Ranlo will be December 31, 2023.

“There are no words to adequately express my appreciation for the opportunity to serve Ranlo over my almost four-year tenure as town manager. I could not be any prouder of our time together. We have achieved incredible feats and I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to have served alongside an incredible group of elected officials and employees,” Blanton stated.

Mr. Blanton was appointed the first town manager of Ranlo in March of 2020 after a unanimous vote of the Board of Commissioners to adopt the council-manager form of government. Throughout his tenure as town manager, Ranlo has acquired more than $15 million in direct grants and allocations, completed seven municipal audits, and grew their fund balance from 20% to 132%. Since Mr. Blanton’s appointment, Ranlo has also annexed 152 acres of Spencer Mountain, adopted the Town’s first Unified Developmental Ordinance/Comprehensive Land Usage Plan, and made substantial improvements to the Town’s infrastructure.

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners will be launching a search for the next Town Manager within the upcoming days. Interested applicants are encouraged to monitor the Town’s website and social media pages for further information. The next meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be on Thursday, December 14 at 7:00 pm.
