The Ranlo Board of Commissioners are excited to announce that Jonathan Blanton will be Ranlo’s first Town Manager.
A public hearing was held on March 12 to discuss the adoption of the council-manager form of government for the Town of Ranlo and the Board voted to amend the Town Charter at their regularly scheduled March meeting to provide for the change. Mr. Blanton was the Board’s unanimous selection for Town Manager and has helped guide and advise the Town on the adoption of the council-manager form of government.
Mr. Blanton is currently the City Manager for Hamlet, North Carolina and is a licensed North Carolina attorney. He also hold’s a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has a strong background in local government finance, municipal law, and public management.
Mr. Blanton will serve as a consultant to the Town beginning on March 16 until he is officially sworn in as Town Manager at the regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners’ Meeting on April 9.
