On July 29, 2020 Executive Orders 124 & 142 expired, and with it the late fee restriction on utility bills. Any late payment on your current bill will result in a $5.00 late fee starting 5:00PM on the 15th of each month. To avoid disconnection, any charges on your current bill must be paid before the 5:00PM on the 25th of each month. Disconnections for nonpayment are conducted on the 26th of each month or the following business day. Payment after 5:00PM on the 25th will result in a $50.00 fee.

Payments may be made using the drop box, drive thru, or on the website.

Utility Billing

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS:

Utilities Payment Methods

In person payments (CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS): Payments are accepted in person Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM at the Customer Service Window inside the lobby of Town Hall. We accept cash, check or money orders for in-person payments.

Drive-thru: Payments are accepted in the drive thru Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM at Town Hall. We accept cash, check or money orders for in-person payments.

Drop Box: Use the dropbox outside of Town Hall on 1624 Spencer Mountain Rd to drop off your payment. Please note that the dropbox is located next to the drive-through window – not to confuse with the USPS Mailbox closer to the Ranlo Fire Department. The dropbox is emptied every business day in the morning and after lunch around 1:30PM.

Online Payment: You can pay your bill online with a debit or credit card 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to access your account, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Customer’s name;
  • Street name;
  • Account number; and
  • Amount to be paid.

Automatic Draft: Customers can apply to have their bill amount drafted from their bank account each month. For more information and the application form, click here.

NOTE: Online payments received after 5:00PM on the due date will incur the appropriate late/delinquent penalty.

Automatic Bank Draft for Utility Payments – Terms & Conditions

    • When enrolled in Automatic Bank Draft, payments will automatically be drafted from the customer’s bank account each month.
    • Drafts will take place on the 10th of each month or the following business day if the 10th is a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday.
    • Customers will still receive a bill as usual. It is important to check the bill for any abnormalities and get in touch with us at (704) 824-3461. We can make adjustments to the bill until the 8th of the month.
    • In the case of a leak or other instance where a credit to the account would be appropriate, such adjustments will be reflected in the following billing cycle.
    • To ensure accuracy of banking information, the first bill will not draft after enrolling. Customers will receive notification of successful enrollment via email, phone, or mail. The date of this notification is the official enrollment date.
    • Customers must submit in writing a cancellation of enrollment in Automatic Bank Draft at least 30 days prior to the preferred cancellation date. Such notifications may be submitted to Town Hall or emailed to info@townofranlo.org.
    • Customers shall notify the Town of Ranlo in writing of any changes in bank account information or contact information such as a change of phone number or email address.
    • Any payments returned unpaid due to insufficient funds or any other error will be charged a $30.00 service charge. Customers will be notified of this charge and must pay the balance, including the $30.00 service charge, at Town Hall or through online payment.

Starting August, 2020

Effective August 2020, the Town will implement a new utility billing system, increasing revenue in a fair and gradual manner to sustain the increased rates from Two Rivers Utilities and prepare for future rehabilitation needs of our water and sewer infrastructure.
