At 3 PM today, Gaston County issued a countywide order to stay at home unless carrying out essential business starting tomorrow, March 27th at 5PM. This order applies to the Town of Ranlo and will be enforced within town limits. All town employees with the exception of the Police Department will be working modified schedules in order to prevent the potential spread of coronavirus and ensure that social distancing can be maintained. All Public Works projects are suspended until the order is lifted with the exception of regular trash collection, which will continue on regular schedule. No leaf or brush collection will be done during this period. All playgrounds are closed and will be regularly patrolled.
We are currently working on plans to hold the regularly-scheduled April 9th board meeting via teleconference to allow public access without exceeding the limit of gatherings and more information on that will be made available at a later date. All sports and events have been canceled and refunds issued. The lodge will not be available for rentals for the duration of the order and full refunds will be issued for all reservations during the months of March and April.
We ask that if you have not yet paid your water bill, please do so online or via the dropbox at Town Hall, wait until the order is lifted. More guidance will be released as we see how things progress. The order may be extended or modified and we will be sure to notify you all as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your time and patience during this time. Most importantly, please ensure you keep yourselves and your families safe and practice good hygiene to limit the spread of the virus.
